The high road

sometimes, having a highly developed sense of ethics,
can be frustrating
especially if others are not at that level.

in my casual observations,
i can tell that in the U.S,
their level of ethical understanding is generally more developed and refined
as in.. higher.

not that this is some kind of U.S. worshiping entry or anything like that

its just that, from my observation,
Americans have their ethical awareness at a higher level,
a result, perhaps
from their constant fighting for various rights

for example
this on pornography
it is a highly evolved response
although not all americans may be aware of it or agree with it,
i might say,
at least the education and the spreading of the word has begun in their country.
as a note,
i agree with him. but then i cannot force all my values upon others,
especially when they just have not reached this ethical level yet.

in my country,
and in most others,
i believe that it is still socially acceptable behaviour
it is, after all,
"something that all guys do"
and i have seen in newspapers,
advice that says,
it is normal, and nothing to worry about if your partner engages in it
*raised eyebrows*

now, the issue on internet pornography is a higher level of awareness,
at a more discussed level is the issue of strippers,
this response is also highly evolved and i do agree with what is being said.

where i come from,
and where i am at right now,
and i think in most countries in the world,
women still have a very long way to go
the basis, the foundations for all this to be understood is not complete.
men simply have yet to grasp the fundamental concept of respect for the opposite sex
not to say they do not respect women at all,
but alot of times, the way they see things with respect to women,
is just fundamentally wrong
but because everyone else around them do the same thing and think the same way,
so they do not realise it is wrong.

the fight for women is very advanced in america,
which is why advice such as the above is acceptable and can be understood,
without causing a great hoo-haa about "but its natural what"
such advice in the U.S is accepted in the sense that ppl see it as,
hmm... i didn't really think about it that way before.

but then again,
the internet porn thing is from Dr. Phil,
and that man said,
"it is normal for men to look at other women"
irony or juxtapose?
or just,
the confusing dick talk?

*sighs*
I guess you just can't win them all

hey boys,
respect for the opposite sex is not just a word that you say you understand,
it is a way of life,
and a way of thinking about life.
