new discovery!
i have a new discovery!!!
i'm afraid i'm a bit late to discover it
but heck..
better late than never
rite?
so my discovery is
Fantasy Fiction is FREAKING ADDICTIVE!!!!!!!!
my first ever ever ever fantasy
were those choose your own path books
that was when i was just a lil kidling
the pure novelty of those books kept me attracted
you know those that at the end of the page asks you
would you like to do A or B if A turn to page xx, if B turn to page xx
after a couple of those
the novelty wore off
but my brother was pretty captivated and he brought home more of those books
i'd read them in the toilet when i had nothing better to read
then came sweet valley twin...
fanta.. what?
so i would say, my first proper fantasy proper..
would have been
*drum rolls*
HARRY POTTER!!!!!!
yeah...
read all seven books!
and even though some ppl would say that is not really fantasy..
-__-
fusspots
well..
i'm not one much for classifications
and genres
and labels
and kukuciao nonsense
actually... some kukuciao..
nevermind..
anyway
i never thought anything could be like harry potter
and i never bothered to search
one day
some time after harry potter
a show called
stardust
came onto the big screen
and it was an interesting enough story
even if the editing man used his scissors a bit too much in the movie
(in my humble opinion)
the storyline was appealing
and seemed quite original to my unexposed mind
plus the screen credits came up
and it was written by none other than
Neil Gaiman
whom da sistah had met before
and assured me that he was ultra ultra yummy
(disclaimer: she and i got diff tastes in men.. we only seem to agree on french men)
and all that movie, familiar name, yummy author
got me to be curious enough to go pick up the book
and the book..
it was a bit slow to start but once it got started it was quite a simmering kind of book
pretty entertaining
not engrossing...
but different enough at least in story line and writing style
to pique more of my curiousity
stumbled across a
Trudi Canavan
from the synopsis
of the 'black magician' epic
it holds a hint of promise that it could possibly
...possibly
provide a salve for the harry potter void
...possibly...
but there are no copies available and i have to wait
we'll see
then while waiting
unseen hands have led me to
S.L Farrell
and the holder of lightning
once again... a slow start but soon evolves into engrossing stuff
this one is seriously engrossing
so now...
into my 3rd epic/collection of books in fantasy
i'm HOOKED
HOOKED i tell you
so hooked that i even grabbed a cab
and slobbered all the way to a location
where the one and seemingly only available copy of the
S.L Farrell cloudmages trilogy #2 awaited
PAID a handsome sum to the cab for getting stuck in traffic
and yet
i ain't complaining
my greedy hands landed on the book
MUAHAHHAHAHA
so now
chinioserie and fantasy are tied in my list of books to read
and that my friends
is my latest discovery
FANTASY FICTION
and that would also be the closest kind of writing to a book review from me
that anyone would be seeing at least in the near future
as i was never that ino tearing apart and analysing a book to death
as i believe firmly
only the author would ever be able to that accurately
;)
and now
i have my 'ands on the mage of clouds
got to go...
the magic calls
CIAOZZZZZZ
and i started to look for other fantasy stuffs
