interesting.......

i attended a seminar today.
the presenter was the CEO of Malaysiakini
Malaysiakini is an online news publication and some say its one of the pro-opposition papers
so anyway the fellow goes on.. yada yada we're different yada yada
at the end of all the yadaing, its time for the questions and answers

given that most of the people there were communications students and a smattering of communications lecturers,
i was spoiling for some good probing questions to put the presenter on a spot
i, the tutor from boring old finance faculty,
asked a question and countered his reply
the presenter was getting queasy but willing to continue with my question and things were looking interesting
him.. the mc.. presumably a communications lecturer cut short that section and asked to move on
needless to say the MC then avoided my look like the plague
and avoided allowing me to ask question like the SARs
following that there were only the timid obligatory boring stuffy questions from the floor

i suppose that shattered my perception that the people in the communications faculty
are hip happening and daring people
it appears they are even more 'boring-er' than little old me in the stuffy old finance building

and malaysiakini is supposed to be full of controversial issues...
rite...
