Kampung is a malay word..
it means village..

listening to artistes like Ah Niu and Richie Ren (Lang hua yi duo duo)
i often hear that kampung sound...

what do i mean by the kampung sound?
well... something that's intrinsincly soothing..
not in the sense of Deepak Chopra ohmming away like a sedated fly...
but it's very soothing...
makes you feel calm...
i suppose for the westerners..
the feeling is akin to music that brings you to the beach..
when ur just lying down staring at the sun..
doing nothing and lazing..

but the kampung sound is a bit more poignant..
makes you think of home...
or a place where you feel relaxed and calm...

that's the kampung sound

i ain't talking about no village ppl sound..
not that village sound ok...
it's the Kampung sound... waaaay different

the singer tends to tease and insert little jokes in the song..
which makes it all the better..

where is this all leading us you ask?

frankly i have no idea...
