i think they must have been up to the old trick..
trying to con the old ang mo couple to put out more money...
saying they dun have enough capital la la la
and leave the house half built
cos usually, when the house is half built ppl get anxious and panic
and want it built
so its rather like subtle blackmail..
pay me or you become homeless..
take it from me..
my contractor friends confirm that this goes on in the industry
and let me advise those in this situation
just tell them

"ok, you want to be like that, fuck you. move aside, i'm getting a new contractor"

because
a) there nothing they can do about it as they breached the contract first
b) you leave them a big gaping hole in their pockets to fill 'cos believe me,
they have to prepay for alot of things first before you finish paying them
and they carry large debts while work is in progress which they can only turn into profits and pay off after they receive the final payment or payments nearer completion date
c) they don't deserve the job and if they get their way, they are just gonna do terrible work that is not up to standard
d) there ARE contractors out there who don't do these kind of stupid things and who do good work

and what happens if you do good work?
you get a million bucks in revenue

and now nice nice housemate said...
the bitch in the house has been bugging him to go to the supermarket
and so now we need to make a trip to the supermarket
i hope the bitch in the house knows how to keep his mouth shut
or ELSE...
this time i'm gonna ask him to shut up :P
